Prime Minister Lays Foundation for Darbhanga Airport Expansion and Six Other Projects

Prime Minister has virtually laid the foundation for a new civil enclave at Darbhanga airport and six other airport infrastructure projects across the country, with a total investment of ?6,700 crore. Darbhanga airport alone will receive ?912 crore for a new terminal building, civil enclave, and airside facilities. The Bihar government has transferred 76.85 acres to AAI for the project, which includes a Category II ILS, runway extension, and expanded terminal building. These upgrades will boost daily passenger capacity from 1,500 to 8,000 and aircraft operations from 10 to 50.
