Punjabi Bagh Ring Road Corridor Redevelopment Faces Delays Amid Traffic Congestion
Roads and Highways Sector News | Project News | Project Update | Project Opportunities
Construction work on the Ring Road at Punjabi Bagh in New Delhi by the Public Works Department is going on, and the completion is likely to be delayed. The corridor redevelopment includes two new flyovers, one between ESI Hospital and Bharat Darshan Park, and the second near Moti Nagar intersection alongside the existing flyover. A 2km elevated corridor is also part of the plan. The ongoing flyover construction has led to traffic jams, especially between the Punjabi Bagh crematorium and ESI Hospital. The construction company faces challenges in completing the work on the flyover pillars, with a tender floated to shift a power line causing hindrance. The completion is now expected around March 2024.
