Rock Phosphate Mine Expansion Planned in Jhamarkotra, Rajasthan

The Jhamarkotra Integrated Rock Phosphate Mining Project in Udaipur, Rajasthan, is seeking environmental clearance to expand its production capacity from 1.763 MTPA to 24.428 MTPA. The expansion includes 3.0 MTPA of rock phosphate, 1.428 MTPA of secondary ore, and 20.0 MTPA of overburden (minor mineral) from existing dumps. The project spans 1,370.369 hectares, comprising 270.795 ha of diverted forest land and 1,099.574 ha of non-forest land, and is part of the ongoing operations at the existing mine.
