Rouni Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Project Planned in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh

The proposed 2,100 MW Rouni Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Project will utilize the head between a new upper and lower dam near Bagicha tehsil, Jashpur district, Chhattisgarh. An underground powerhouse will be constructed between the two reservoirs, interconnected through a water conductor system. The project, located on Dorki Nala (a tributary of Ib/Mahanadi), will have its upper reservoir near Chicholi village under Rouni Gram Panchayat.
