SAIL to Invest ?6,500 Crore in Capex This Year, Eyes Expansion to 50 Million Tonnes

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) plans to invest ?6,500 crore in capital expenditure this financial year, as part of its Rs 1 lakh crore investment plan over the coming years. The investment aims to increase production capacity from 20 million tonnes to 35 million tonnes per annum by 2031 in the first phase. Subsequently, SAIL aims to expand further to 50 million tonnes in the next phase.
