Shyam Metalics Commissions Blast Furnace at Jamuria

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited

Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd. (SMEL) has commissioned a new blast furnace and established a sinter plant at its Jamuria facility, with an investment of ?600 crore. This expansion increases the plant’s capacity from 0.45 MTPA to 0.77 MTPA. The new furnace features three top-fired stoves, modern dry gas cleaning technology, and advanced coal dust injection, handling up to 550 cubic meters. This enhancement is expected to boost steel production and increase profits by approximately ?700 per MTPA.
