SJVN Ltd to Build First Pumped-Storage Hydro Station in Mizoram

Indian power producer SJVN Ltd has been selected to construct a pumped-storage hydro (PSH) station in Mizoram, marking the company’s first project in the northeastern Indian state. SJVN received a letter of intent (LoI) from the Government of Mizoram for the Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project. The project, utilizing on-stream closed loop type pumped storage technology, will be implemented across Darzo Nallah, a tributary of the Tuipui River. It will consist of eight units of 300 MW each. The scheme, estimated to cost around ?139.47 billion, is expected to be finalized within the next three months and completed within 72 months.
