Smart Meters to be Installed for 27.3 Lakh Consumers in Varanasi Cluster

Under the Varanasi smart metering project, 27.3 lakh consumers across Varanasi, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ballia, and Mau districts will receive smart meters, including transformers and feeders, at no charge. GMR Kashi Smart Meters Limited, the project service provider, presented progress to Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma. Surveys have covered 5,15,122 consumers, 29,366 transformers, and 1,477 feeders, with door-to-door surveys ongoing.
