Tata Power plans 10 GW solar ingot-wafer manufacturing facility

Tata Power has announced plans to establish a 10 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing plant in India to strengthen the upstream segment of the solar supply chain. The project addresses Indias heavy dependence on imports for critical components despite strong domestic module and cell capacity. The company is evaluating state incentives and central manufacturing schemes to finalise the location. Tata Power is also assessing future investments in hydro and nuclear assets to diversify its clean-energy infrastructure portfolio.
