Udangudi Thermal Plants First 660 MW Unit to Start by May

The Udangudi Supercritical Thermal Power Plant is progressing towards commissioning its first 660 MW unit by May. Developed in three phases at a cost of Rs.13,077 crore, the project includes two 660 MW units in its first phase. A key feature is its 8 km-long captive coal jetty, among Indias longest, with a pipe conveyor system for seamless coal transport. Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TNPGCL) is ensuring timely completion of the first unit.
