UltraTech Cement commissions 1.2 mtpa grinding capacity at Arakkonam unit

UltraTech Cement has commissioned an additional 1.2 million tons per annum (mtpa) grinding capacity at its existing unit in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, bringing the company’s total cement capacity to 156.06 mtpa. As the cement flagship of the Aditya Birla Group, UltraTech is the third largest cement producer globally, outside of China, with a consolidated grey cement capacity of 154.86 mtpa. In Q1 FY25, the company’s net profit rose to Rs 1,696.59 crore, while revenue from operations increased by 1.87% year-on-year to Rs 18,069.56 crore.
