UPERC Approves 1,500 MW Solar Power Procurement for Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has approved two solar power procurement deals by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), facilitating the addition of 1,500 MW of renewable energy to the state’s grid. The first deal involves 1,000 MW of solar power from developers Avaada GJ Green Pvt. Limited, Sprng Power Earth Pvt. Ltd., ReNew Solar Steller Pvt. Ltd., and Solarcraft Power India 17 Pvt. Ltd., with tariffs ranging from ?2.52 to ?2.53 per unit. The second approval grants the procurement of 500 MW from Jakson Limited, Shiva Corporation India Ltd., and ReNew Solar Power Pvt. Ltd. at a uniform rate of ?2.60 per unit, both facilitated by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
