The Ludhiana Surface Water Supply Scheme, a canal-based project, has achieved 14.8 percent progress within six months of its launch in February 2025. Phase I has a budget of Rs. 1,305 crore, including Rs. 154 crore for operations and Rs. 84 crore for quality assurance. The scope includes a treatment plant at Bilga, 165 km of pipeline, and 70 overhead tanks. Completion is targeted for February 2028 to ensure reliable urban water supply.
