Work begins on Bengals ?35,000 crore Deucha Pachami coal project

The Deucha Pachami coal project, Indias largest and the worlds second-largest coal block, has commenced work in Bengal. With a capital outlay of ?35,000 crore, the project is expected to generate around one lakh jobs. However, coal extraction faces challenges due to a significant hard basalt overburden that must be removed first.
