YIL to expand Ishapore axle plant to 70,000 units

Yantra India Limited (YIL)

Yantra India to expand production capacity at its Metals and Steel Factory in Ishapore from 30,000 to 70,000 railway axles annually within two years. The project includes new machining and heat-treatment lines, expanded forging and finishing workshops, upgraded quality inspection and nondestructive testing units, and enhanced utilities for power and water. The facility will also manufacture tank barrels and artillery gun components using shared heavy machining assets. Implementation involves phased commissioning, equipment procurement, and automation upgrades.
