Power Sector News India
The West Bengal government has cleared the establishment of a 660 MW thermal power plant at Durgapur under a revenue-sharing model. Land, ash ponds, coal handling plants, and coal linkages from Coal India will be provided by the state. The project will be developed through tariff-based bidding, with a private developer investing in the plant. WBSEDCL will purchase the entire generated power under a long-term power purchase agreement at a mutually agreed tariff.
