800 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Unit Planned at Gandhinagar TPS

Environmental clearance is sought for the installation of a 1×800 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project (Unit #6) at the site of the decommissioned 2×120 MW units (#1 and #2) of Gandhinagar Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Units #1 and #2, commissioned in March and April 1977, were decommissioned in September 2016 and subsequently demolished in December 2019. This brownfield expansion aims to replace the outdated units with a modern supercritical thermal power facility, enhancing energy efficiency and capacity.
