Oil India, BMC to Develop CBG Plant in Bhubaneswar

Oil India has signed an MoU with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to establish a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in the city, designed to process 200 tonnes of segregated municipal solid waste daily. The plant, set to be built on an 8-acre site, will initially produce 10 to 15 tonnes of biomethane gas per day, with future scalability up to 300 TPD. The gas will be used for transportation and other sectors, while the compost will benefit farming. The project, with an investment of ?150 crore, will also support the development of CBG plants in seven other locations across Odisha.
