IOCL biogas plant at Tirumala to start operations by May

The Indian Oil Corporation biogas plant at Tirumala, with a capacity of 40 tonne per day, is scheduled for completion by March and operations by May 2026. A 2.5 km pipeline is being laid to transport the gas from the plant near Gogarbham Dam to the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasadam Complex (MTVAC). The project is expected to save approx. Rs 1.52 crore annually and improve waste management.
