Perumbavoor Bypass Project Phase I in Progress

The Perumbavoor bypass project, spanning 4 km as a four-lane highway with an 18-meter tarred width, is being implemented in two phases. Phase I, stretching 1.5 km from Maruthu Kavala to Old MC Road, has begun with a construction contract worth Rs.25.04 crore, supported by Rs.134 crore sanctioned by KIIFB, and involved acquiring 2.74 hectares from 63 landowners at Rs.21.63 crore. Phase II, extending from Old MC Road to Palakkatt Thazham, is estimated to cost Rs.170.53 crore, with land acquisition underway in Perumbavoor, Vengola, and Marampilly villages. The project’s DPR was prepared by Kitco, and Rajagiri College of Engineering will conduct the social impact assessment for Phase II.
