Maharashtra Revises Policy to Boost Mega Projects with Advanced Technology

The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved a revised policy to promote mega projects based on advanced technology across the state, offering industrial promotion subsidies. Projects with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore or more, irrespective of sector, will receive a subsidy amounting to 100% of the fixed capital investment. For investments of Rs 20,000 crore, the state will provide a subsidy of 11% under the collective incentive scheme. So far, five projects have been approved, with two pending before the Cabinet Sub-Committee, and three more awaiting approval. These projects are expected to bring Rs 1.79 lakh crore in investments and create 60,000 jobs. In total, the state anticipates Rs 2 lakh crore in investments from 10 projects, generating over 1 lakh jobs.
