UP Approves Major Semiconductor Projects Worth ?32,000 Crore

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved two significant semiconductor fabrication projects totaling over ?32,000 crore, aiming to position the state as a future semiconductor hub. Located near Jewar International Airport in Greater Noida, these private sector plants are expected to generate around 15,000 jobs. The state cabinet recently sanctioned a ?9,000 crore subsidy over the next five years, including a 25% capital subsidy on Tarq Semiconductors’ ?28,440 crore fab plant in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority enclave.

This initiative is set to not only drive technological advancements but also contribute significantly to the region’s economic growth, making Uttar Pradesh a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain.
