GAILs Dabhol LNG terminal in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, will operate during the monsoon for the first time after completing a breakwater facility. Previously shut for four months annually due to high tides, the terminal can now receive LNG cargoes year-round. GAIL has applied for all-weather terminal status, enhancing operational flexibility. Plans include phased capacity expansion from 5 million tonnes to 6.3 million tonnes by 2027, reaching 12.5 million tonnes by 2031-32, boosting Indias LNG import infrastructure.
