NMDPL initiates environmental clearance process for Aksa-Malvani Parcel

Navbharat Mega Developers Private Limited (NMDPL), the SPV formed by the Maharashtra government and Adani Group, has submitted a Terms of Reference (ToR) application to the MoEF&CC for the 140-acre Aksa-Malvani land parcel under the Dharavi Redevelopment Project. This site is intended for relocating ineligible slum dwellers. While physical possession is pending, the ToR initiates the environmental clearance process, expected to take 67 months. The application outlines the scope for EIA review and will involve scrutiny from CRZ, aviation, and state authorities. Further ToR filings are planned for nearby parcels. The move marks a significant step in unlocking large-scale infrastructure groundwork for Asias largest urban renewal initiative.
