AURIC Begins Work on New Jayakwadi Water Pipeline
Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL)
Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC), part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, has begun constructing a 900 mm-diameter water pipeline from the Jayakwadi dam to the Bidkin region. The 100 MLD project will supply 72 MLD of water for Bidkin’s industrial use, with the remaining capacity reserved for residential and commercial needs. Currently, AURIC receives 30 MLD from MIDC, though present demand is lower. Around 42 percent of total water requirements will be met through treated wastewater reuse. Construction began earlier this year following tender finalisation.
