MoEFCC eases approvals for critical mineral mining

The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has amended Forest Conservation and Augmentation Rules 2023 to simplify clearances for mining critical minerals in forest areas. This supports the National Critical Mineral Mission 2025 targeting self-reliance in 24 minerals including lithium, cobalt, and nickel.
