Tamil Nadu to add 2,640 MW through new thermal plants

Tamil Nadu will receive an additional 2,640 MW by March 2026 with near completion of the 1,320 MW Ennore SEZ thermal plant in Tiruvallur and the 1,320 MW Udangudi plant in Thoothukudi. Ennore, costing Rs. 18,000 crore, is 70% complete, while Udangudi has achieved first grid synchronization and targets commercial operation by December 2025.
