132 CBG Plants Operational Under SATAT

India has 132 compressed biogas plants operational with a combined production capacity of about 920 tonnes per day under the SATAT initiative. Oil and gas marketing companies including IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, and IGL have invited entrepreneurs to supply CBG for marketing. The SATAT programme was launched in 2018 to promote production of compressed biogas from biomass and organic waste.
