Adani Power plans entry into nuclear energy

Adani Power is preparing to enter the nuclear energy sector, marking a strategic shift from thermal generation. The company plans to transition to nuclear capacity after expiry of existing PPAs and may collaborate with an international technology partner. Budget 202627 provisions extend customs duty exemptions for nuclear imports until 2035. The Department of Atomic Energy has been allocated Rs. 24,123.92 crore, including Rs. 9,966.41 crore capital outlay, supporting private participation under the SHANTI framework.
