Andhra Pradesh to solarise 2.93 lakh pump sets

Andhra Pradesh has announced plans to solarise 2.93 lakh agricultural pump sets by March 2026. The project involves installing around 1,163 MW of solar capacity with tenders already floated. The state has also tendered 1,198 MW of rooftop solar projects targeting six lakh SC and ST consumers. Pilot projects in Tirupati and Chittoor have shown successful outcomes. The large-scale solarisation initiative will reduce subsidy burden, improve renewable energy adoption, and provide reliable power to agricultural consumers.
