Ashok Leyland to invest Rs. 5,000 crore in battery tech

Ashok Leyland plans to invest over Rs. 5,000 crore in next-gen battery technologies over 710 years, serving both automotive and energy storage sectors. Partnering exclusively with Chinas CALB Group, the initiative will strengthen localised supply chains for its EV arm Switch Mobility. A Global Centre of Excellence will drive R&D in materials, recycling, and manufacturing.
