Assam to commission 13 new solid waste plants by 2025

The Assam government will commission 13 new solid waste management plants by December 2025, covering all 96 Urban Local Bodies under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 by 2027. The new facilities will add 650 TPD capacity to the existing 458 TPD, enhancing waste processing capabilities. Notable plants include Tinsukia (130 TPD), Jorhat, and Kharupetia (100 TPD each), while North Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh operate the states largest current capacities.
