Environmental clearance is sought for the proposed expansion and modification by Bhadrashree Steel and Power Limited at Kunikeri village, Koppal, Karnataka. The project involves changes to the sponge iron configuration (4 x 100 TPD), upgraded induction furnace capacity (2 x 20 T), enhanced rolling mill capacity (145,000 TPA), and an expanded captive power plant (19 MW: WHRB 9 MW + AFBC 10 MW). The previously proposed iron ore beneficiation plant (0.6 MTPA) is dropped. The project spans 30 acres (12.14 hectares).
