Bilaspur-Jharsuguda railway line project
South East Central Railway (SECR)
The Bilaspur-Jharsuguda railway line project, the fourth of its kind in India, is underway to enhance railway connectivity between Bilaspur and Jharsuguda in Chhattisgarh. Spanning 206 kilometers, the project aims to bolster both freight and passenger transportation capacities, reducing travel times and enhancing operational efficiency. As of January 24, 2024, significant progress has been made, with approximately 105.63 kilometers completed, including the Bilaspur-Gatora section, which is ready for commissioning, and the advanced stage of completion of the Sakti-Jharadih section. Work continues on the remaining sections to bring the project to fruition.
