Bullet Train Project Advances in Maharashtra’s Palghar and Thane Districts

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) has commenced work on package-C3 of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor, covering a stretch from Shilphata to Zaroli village on the Maharashtra-Gujarat border. Geotechnical investigations for the entire 135 km section are nearing completion. Construction activities include the commencement of work on two mountain tunnels and pier foundation work at multiple locations. Package C-3 spans 135.45 km and features 24.027 km of viaducts and bridges, along with 5.361 km of earth structures. This package also includes 36 bridges and crossings, with plans for bullet train stations at Thane, Virar, and Boisar.
