Bullet Train Tunnel Breakthrough in Palghar

A 1.5-km-long mountain tunnel of the MumbaiAhmedabad High Speed Rail project has achieved its final breakthrough in Palghar district, Maharashtra. The tunnel is located between the Virar and Boisar bullet train stations and is among the longest mountain tunnels in the district. This is the second tunnel breakthrough in Maharashtra for the project, following completion of the ThaneBKC underground tunnel in September 2025. The 508-km corridor spans Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
