Centre Expedites Ernakulam Bypass Projects

The Central Government has fast-tracked two bypass projects in Ernakulam district, Kerala: the 20-km Angamaly–Kodungallur bypass (NH-544) and the 44-km Angamaly–Kundannoor Kochi New Bypass (NH-66). A revised 3A notification will be issued in October 2025, enabling land acquisition for the Kochi New Bypass, which will link Karayamparambu to Kundannoor, easing congestion and improving connectivity to Kochi airport and Thiruvananthapuram. Land requirements have been reduced from 290 to 201 hectares, with most surveys completed.
