Centre plans Rs 9,280 crore support for Water Metro systems

The Centre is preparing a Rs 9,280 crore initiative under the draft National Water Metro Policy 2026 to part-fund Water Metro projects across India. The scheme, to be implemented with states and private partners, will roll out over 10 years from April 2026 against an estimated capital outlay of Rs 18,594 crore.
