Charmadi Ghat road widening project set to begin
SLV Construction
The Charmadi Ghat road widening to a two-lane roadway is nearing realization, with construction expected to start by January 2025. SLV Construction has been awarded the Rs 175 crore contract, significantly lower than the Rs 343 crore sanctioned by the Union government. The project will widen the road to 10 meters over an 11-km stretch in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, enhancing connectivity between the coastal and hinterland regions. While challenges like land acquisition, environmental clearances, and temporary traffic disruptions remain, the project is poised to boost regional trade and economic activity.
