Cochin Shipyard Plans Rs. 2,000 Crore Expansion at Cochin Port
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL)
Cochin Shipyard is set to invest Rs.2,000 crore in expanding its shipbuilding capabilities at Cochin Port, with international collaboration. This initiative aligns with India’s push for maritime infrastructure growth, supported by recent budget recommendations. Additionally, CSL has inaugurated an international ship repair facility at Willingdon Island, Cochin Port, with an investment of Rs. 970 crore. To facilitate the expansion, the port authority plans to lease a portion of its 150-acre land to CSL, further strengthening Kochis position as a regional maritime hub.
