Coimbatore Metro Rail progresses with LPS finalisation

The Coimbatore Metro Rail project, covering 40 km across two corridors, is moving ahead with Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) finalising the land plan schedule (LPS) within two months. Estimated at Rs. 10,740 crore, Corridor-1 will run from Ukkadam to Coimbatore Airport, and Corridor-2 from Coimbatore Junction to Valiyampalayam Privu. For a 1.4 km bottleneck stretch, 2.28 acres of private and 0.58 acres of government land are required. Surveys, mapping, and administrative sanction submissions are completed.
