Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Charitable Trust has proposed the construction of the Kalaignar International Convention Centre on a site located at part of Kadambadi and Perumaleri Village in Thirukazhukundram Taluk, Chengalpattu District. The project will cover an area of 54,939 square meters (5.4 hectares) and will feature a built-up area of 25,464.47 square meters (2.54 hectares).
