In response to a Supreme Court directive, the Delhi government has unveiled plans to construct 255 new courtrooms across three of the six district court complexes. The court expressed concern over delays, citing an acute shortage of courtrooms. The city’s chief secretary committed to initiating construction from March next year, addressing the urgency highlighted by the court. Tendering for the projects is slated to commence next month, aiming to alleviate the strain on judicial infrastructure.
