DPRs Prepared for Chennai Metro Network Extensions

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL)

CMRL has awarded consultancy contracts for detailed project reports on two extensions. Corridor 4 will expand by 7 km from Lighthouse to High Court, enhancing connectivity along Marina Beach and government offices. A new 21-km corridor will link Tambaram, Medavakkam, Pallikaranai, and Velachery with Guindy Metro Station, integrating southern suburbs. The DPRs, to be completed in 120 days by Systra MVA Consulting India, will assess alignment, ridership, multimodal integration, and feasibility.
