Finance Ministry clears Rs 2,500 crore support for small hydro projects

The Finance Ministry’s Expenditure Finance Committee has approved a Rs 2,500 crore proposal to support small hydro power projects of up to 25 MW capacity. The scheme aims to double India’s small hydro capacity to 10 GW over the next decade, with central financial assistance covering 20–30 percent of benchmark costs.
