National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL)

Construction of the GohpurNumaligarh Road-cum-Rail Tunnel project, a twin-tube underwater tunnel beneath the Brahmaputra linking Gohpur in Biswanath district with Numaligarh in Golaghat district, is being executed by the NHIDCL. The strategic 33.7-km corridor, including roughly 15.8 km of submerged twin tubes designed for combined road and rail use with associated approach roads, has received in-principle approval and is currently in the pre-construction/ tendering stage with detailed project activities such as DPR preparation and clearances underway.
