Havelock Bridge to Become ?94 Cr Heritage Tourism Hub

Andhra Pradesh will conduct a fresh structural study of the 125-year-old Havelock Bridge over the Godavari River before redeveloping it under the ?94.44 crore Akhanda Godavari tourism project. Funded by the Union Ministry of Tourism, the plan includes converting the decommissioned 2.74-km rail bridge into a cultural destination with craft bazaars, installations on 25 spans, and a tent city on a nearby island. Additional attractions include canal boating, a nurseries centre, and Godavari Harathi events before Pushkarams 2027.
