John Cockerill Wins Contract for GPIL’s Raipur Steel Plant

John Cockerill India (JCIL) has secured a contract from Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd (GPIL) for a new two MTPA greenfield steel plant at Tilda, Raipur. JCIL will handle engineering, design, manufacturing, supply, and supervision of erection and commissioning of a 6-Hi reversible cold rolling mill (CRM) with a capacity of 3,00,000 tonne per year. The CRM will process strip widths up to 1,500 mm and thicknesses down to 0.15 mm, operating at speeds of 1,400 mpm. The order will be executed from JCIL’s Taloja unit near Mumbai.
