Karnataka’s First Waste-to-Energy Plant in Bidadi to Inaugurate in July

Karnataka’s maiden Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plant in Bidadi, a joint venture of KPCL and BBMP, is scheduled for inauguration this July. Spread over 15 acres, the plant boasts an 11.5 MW capacity and can process up to 600 tonnes of dry waste. Trial runs are slated to begin in the first week of July, aiming to address Bengaluru’s waste disposal challenges while generating electricity. The project, costing Rs 260 crore, marks a significant step towards sustainable urban development.
