Kerala Government Nears Approval for Outer Area Growth Corridor Master Plan

The Kerala Government is set to approve the master plan for the Outer Area Growth Corridor (OAGC) around the planned Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the capital city, with comprehensive strategies for land use, transportation, and infrastructure. The plan includes forming eight clusters from Vizhinjam to Navaikulam, initially managed by a government-constituted SPV, which will partner with private co-developers. However, final approval for the ORR project awaits resolution of financial and cost-sharing issues between the state and central governments. A high-level meeting is expected soon to address these details, advancing the 78-km ORR and its economic zones. Approval is anticipated within two weeks.
